With our impact on the planet becoming a pressing issue, businesses have opted to take responsibility through sustainable and eco-friendly practices. This comes as no surprise since studies have shown that 81% of consumers prefer to buy from sustainable businesses.
As more consumers begin choosing sustainable options, sustainable businesses have seen excellent opportunities in digital marketing, especially since the market for sustainable sellers is growing fast.
Case Study | Blue Tit London
Blue Tit London is an award-winning boutique hair salon with sustainability at the core of its values. They are a Certified B Corporation which means they are legally required to consider their impact on the environment, as well as their workers, customers, community and suppliers. The business also uses eco-friendly and sustainable hair products, such as Oway. Oway bottles are made with 100% recyclable materials, and Blue Tit even has an Oway refill station in every salon to prompt their customers to reduce waste.
We have worked with Blue Tit for more than 3 years on their SEO, which has helped the business grow from 3 salons in London to 10 and expanding. As a sustainability-focused business, this meant becoming visible on Google for keywords such as ‘eco-friendly salon’. Working in partnership with their PR agency we set about a content and link building strategy to drive inbound links from high authority sites.
With all this work we dominated the local search results for each individual salon and picked up additional traffic from hair related queries and wider search locations. This, in turn, led to an increase in organic search traffic of over 140% over 2 years and we continue to improve and build on their search traffic. Above all, this traffic converts extremely well so we can prove a strong return on investment for the client.
Digital Marketing for Sustainable Businesses
Whether it’s a food dish or a hair product, an organic option is an effective way to widen your customer base. Many of our clients in the hair and beauty industry are Aveda salons, which offer organic, cruelty-free, and vegan products.
Greenwashing is, unfortunately, an increasingly common business practice. We’re proud to have B-Corporations and Seedling Certified businesses amongst our clients.
Sustainable Services & Products
Many of our clients provide sustainable products and services, particularly in the Hair & Beauty Industry. Take LEAF Scissors’ sustainable hair tools and Scrummi’s disposable towels as examples.
Reducing Ecological Footprints
We’re most certainly able to support companies that aim to reduce their own ecological footprint, as well as others. Including telling your story so your audience is aware of the great work you’re doing.
Sustainable Marketing for Sustainability Brands
With the increasing amount of sustainable competitors, it can be tricky to leverage the eco-friendly aspects of your brand.
Green Shoot Marketing can help by creating a clear digital strategy based on your objectives. Would you like to increase traffic to your website? No problem.
